Positive help Hospital Radio Wey

It was we great delight that we have recently come to the help of community Radio station Radio Wey based in St Peters Hospital Chertsey Surrey.

We were contacted by Radio Wey when they were looking for a new PC. As Radio Wey is a community project serving hospitals we were delighted to provide a PC to the ambitious station free of charge. The PC is dedicated to running the Myriad playout software that runs 24/7 at Radio Wey. Alan Dolby who is the Radio Wey Chief Engineer said of the PC "It's a very nice job, and I was impressed to see XP already loaded with current SP and patched all up-to-date! This will make a big difference!"

We hope to continue our association with Radio Wey offering support and help as required.

Have a happy Christmas and a fanstasic New Year!

Julian Lewis
Managing Director - Positive Computing

Hospital Radio Wey was started in 1965 and continues to prosper via the endeavours of a hard working volunteer network of presenters and technicians. By fusing together the resources of the station and the 'local' internet presence of LarkWeb, the future of local community radio is extremely exciting. Click Here for more on Radio Wey

BNI and Positive Computing the next 6 month

E-mail Print PDF

jl-meet-our-teamI have been asked by my Berkshire BNI chapter (Reading Central) to be Chapter Director for the next 6 months. I feel it is really important to plan and therefore I have written the following 6 month plan which I thought I would share with you all. Sharing my plan publically gives me more incentive to follow it through. I will let you know how I do!

Regards
Julian

BNI Reading Central - 6 Month Plan - October 2009 - March 2010

This plan is an overview document designed to give the Reading Central chapter of BNI a goal and hence include everybody in achieving that goal. People will find their own way within a group and there is room for that but for the group as a whole to grow we must have common purpose and application. Above all we should all support each other's legitimate objectives and find room for them in the group.

The mission of Reading Central BNI
Reading Central BNI is a collection of business people and it has the following shared mission.
1. To increase the profitability of all the participating companies
2. To provide a supportive atmosphere for each other and our companies
3. To promote the services offered by the group in a positive manner
4. To help grow the group
5. To have some fun without offending or deflecting the group from its mission

The Goal
Achieve 40 good and active members within the 6 months.

The Team
The team for these 6 months is as follows. These are the distinct roles that we have identified so far. It is accepted that everybody in the chapter is part of the team and it is expect that all should contribute for the good of the chapter.

Membership Sec - Graeme Hobbs
Sec Treasurer - Greg Rowlinson
Education Co-ordinator :- Bill Montague

Clear up:-
Mentor Co-ordinator: Simon Dunster (Making sure new members get a helping hand)

Action Points

Meetings
1. It is very important that we are organised for meetings. We should aim to turn up at 6:30 so that we are ready for our visitors and so we can start the meetings on time.
2. If members want to they should bring literature for our literature table.
3. Written testimonials. It is very important that we show visitors that BNI works and written testimonials should be given and we will display them in 2 books on the literature table.
4. 1 to 1 meetings are very important and we will allow some time to book 1:1 meeting during the committee report section, each member should plan to have 20 1:1 meetings in the 6 months.
5. Especially if we have no visitors we will mix things up a bit in the meeting.
6. Ultimately everybody will have a job that helps the group, we must all contribute.

Policy
1. During these 6 months we will administer the policy and procedures on BNI strictly but with compassion.

Visitors
1. The number of members at Reading Central has remained around 20 for the last 6 years or more. We all recognise that a chapter of 30 or more will help us to achieve our mission easier. We must focus on visitors and on ensuring that every visitor has all the fact they need to make the right decision for them on joining.
2. We will have 3 visitor days during the 6 months with the first being on the 30th of October. We will focus on these days for visitors but visitors will be welcome at all times.
3. Jerry Rubin will Co-Ordinate visitors days. We plan to split the group into Power teams and ask them to work together in inviting others in their power teams.
4. New members must send at least 20 letters after they have attended their new member training; we will ensure new members get on training as soon as possible.
5. All members should follow up on all visitors as soon as possible after the meetings, by letter, by email or by phone.

Website
1. We should improve the content of the website by providing to Albert updated text and photo's. Content is everything about any website and our should be no different.

Review
1. We will measure our progress towards the goal and how well we are executing the plan. Each month the Leadership team and others will meet and we will review and refine the plan.
